Itinerary

On arrival into Fredericton, New Brunswick’s capital city, collect your rental vehicle and make your way downtown. The city is noted for its heritage and culture, with places to visit including the historic Garrison District, Beaverbrook Art Gallery and the Old Government House.
Fredericton offers a whole host of activities and attractions for you to discover today. Visit King’s Landing Historical Settlement - an outdoor Living History Museum, recreating the lives of New Brunswickers in the 1800s and the perfect place to explore New Brunswick’s culture and heritage. Hop on a wagon to travel in time ‘19th century style’!
Leaving Fredericton, you will drive southwest to St Stephen – the town where the first chocolate bar was invented and the gateway to the Fundy Coastal Drive. The drive is dramatically stunning and introduces you to the Bay of Fundy – “One of the Marine Wonders of the World”. Explore the tranquil and beautiful seaside resort of St Andrews-by-the-Sea.
This morning we suggest taking a nature cruise through the narrow island passages of the Deer Island Archipelago en route to the open Bay of Fundy. You can expect to see whales, porpoise, seals, seabirds and bald eagles between the months of May and September. St Andrews is famed for its golf, or for the more adventurous try horseback riding and sea kayaking. This evening why not have dinner at Savour in the Garden?
Campobello Island, New Brunswick
Today you will visit Campobello Island, famous for being the beloved isle of late US President Franklin D Roosevelt. Take a comprehensive sightseeing tour visiting highlights including Friars Head, Liberty Point, Head Harbour and East Quoddy Light House area. In the afternoon, enjoy a self-guided tour of Roosevelt Campobello International Park and experience afternoon ‘Tea with Eleanor’.
Grand Manan, New Brunswick
Depart St Andrews for the scenic drive along the Fundy Coast to Blacks Harbour, which is located on the Fundy Trail. You will take a ferry over to Grand Manan Island to discover its lighthouses, beaches, soaring cliffs, colourful fishing boats and possibly spot whales in its nutrient-rich waters. You can hike the many island trails, kayak and bike. Visit the local museums and marine research station. Accommodation: Island Home B&B
Grand Manan, New Brunswick
This morning’s nature cruise of Grand Manan Island should give you an opportunity to see finback, humpback and minke whales. You are certain to see a plethora of birds and you may be lucky enough to spot sharks and seals as well as taking in the breathtaking coastal scenery. Later you can take the local ferry to explore White Head Island with its families of fishermen and quiet coves. A lighthouse can be found at Long Point overlooking Sandy Cove. Fundy National Park, New Brunswick
Depart Grand Manan and take the ferry back to Blacks Harbour. Continue along the Fundy Coastal Drive to Saint John, New Brunswick’s largest city which is steeped in history with lots to see and do, the most famous is the Reversing Falls. Continue to St Martins, which has many interesting features, including Victorian properties, miles of unspoilt beaches and lighthouses. Accommodation: Falcon Ridge Inn B&B
Fundy National Park, New Brunswick
Spend a full day exploring Fundy National Park. There are over 104km of hiking trails to choose from, ranging from easy ½km loops to a demanding 50km circuit around the park. Be sure to visit Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park - home of Hopewell Rocks, where twice each day the highest tides in the world — up to 46ft/14m — flood the beach, and twice each day you can explore the floor of the Bay of Fundy at low tide. Shediac, New Brunswick
Today you will visit Moncton - home to two unusual natural phenomena; the Tidal Bore on the Petitcodiac River and the famous Magnetic Hill. Continue to Shediac - known as ‘The Lobster Capital of the World’ for its lobster-fishing, the finest saltwater beaches, as well as golf and hiking. This evening enjoy a lobster cruise from Shediac – the most experiential and educational lobster cruise anywhere! Accommodation: Hotel Shediac
Shediac, New Brunswick
Discover Shediac’s beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see and the miles of walking and biking paths that extend from the Bouctouche Dunes to Le Pays de la Sagouine. Be sure to visit Le Pays de la Sagouine which comes alive each summer with theatre, music, comedy and dance, allowing you to discover not only the tales of the Acadian heroine, La Sagouine, but also the unique Acadian culture of the region.
