Our 10-night Journey Through the Clouds Outdoor Adventures tour includes the iconic two-day Rocky Mountaineer rail journey from Vancouver to Jasper plus sightseeing and soft adventures in Vancouver, Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff. Vancouver can be explored on a guided cycle tour or Howe Sound on a Sea Safari, take a gentle 3-hour hike through Jasper National Park and the Ice Explorer on to the middle of Athabasca Glacier. Glide over Lake Louise in an authentic cedar canoe and float down Bow River on an inflatable raft. Travel to dizzy heights at the top of Sulphur Mountain on the Banff Gondola and take in spectacular bird’s-eye views of mountains and glaciers in a helicopter flight seeing tour.

Board your flight from the UK and enjoy the in-flight entertainment on your journey to Vancouver. Arrive in Vancouver and spend the remainder of the afternoon exploring this scenic city at your leisure.
The adventure really starts today with a choice of one of two outdoor activities. Take a "Sea Safari" in a 30-foot rigid hull inflatable boat around the coastline of the spectacular Howe Sound. Look out for seals playing at Pam Rocks and other marine life that makes this area their home. If you prefer to stay on dry land try the five-hour guided cycling tour of Vancouver’s highlights along the seawall and through the rainforests of Stanley Park, pass by England Bay, Chinatown and Gastown.
Board the Rocky Mountaineer in Vancouver for the first day of this two-day rail adventure. Leave the coastal city of Vancouver and meander through the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the coast and Cascade Mountains. Join the Thompson River for the journey through to Kamloops, passing through the desert-like environment of British Columbia’s interior. Accommodation: Three Star Kamloops Hotel
Your Rocky Mountaineer adventure continues north and east, carving its way up through to the mighty Canadian Rockies. Watch out for elk, moose, bear and bald eagles while you travel deeper into British Columbia’s wilderness. Take in breath-taking views of the Majestic Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. You will climb over the Yellowhead Pass into the province of Alberta and Jasper National Park.
Join a scenic half-day tour of Jasper National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the area and enjoy some of the park’s natural attractions and maybe spot some of the wildlife in the area such as caribou, black bears and elk. Join a 3-hour leisurely guided hike exploring the flora and fauna of this area of outstanding natural beauty. During the months of May and June you will still find snow-capped mountains while in mid-summer the alpine meadows are ablaze with wild flowers.
Lake Louise, Alberta
Your transport changes from rail to road today, travelling along one of the world’s most scenic highways, the Icefields Parkway. There will be stops along the way including Athabasca Falls before arriving at the Columbia Icefield. Board the specially built Ice Explorer for a ride onto the middle of the Athabasca Glacier, the largest ice field in the Rocky Mountains. Continue to Lake Louise.
Lake Louise, Alberta
Most of today is at your leisure to enjoy the breath-taking setting of Lake Louise. A 1-hour group canoe ride is included, heading out onto the water in an authentic 26 foot cedar canoe. As you glide across the emerald green glacier-fed lake your guide will share stories of the indigenous people, wildlife and early explorers.
A leisurely morning is spent at Lake Louise, maybe enjoying an early morning hike or a relaxing massage at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Spa. The afternoon takes you back across the border to British Columbia, and into Yoho National Park. Stops will be made to view some of its natural wonders including the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake, and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River before transferring to Banff.
Spend the morning exploring the shops and galleries of Banff before wandering down to the base of Bow Falls, the launch point for your river raft float trip. This gentle journey down the Bow River will provide you with extraordinary views of Buffalo, Rundle, Cascade and Tunnel Mountains. You may be lucky enough to view wildlife in their natural habitat while floating through this natural mountain beauty. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Banff at your leisure.
Today you will enjoy a full-day of sightseeing, taking the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain where you will be mesmerised by the 360-degree views of six incredible mountain ranges. Take in the views from Surprise Corner of the castle-like Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and stop at Lake Minnewanka. Continue to Calgary.
Check-out of your Calgary Hotel and transfer to the international airport for your homeward or onward flight.
