The city has some beautiful green spaces including the Washington Park which includes the Japanese Garden and Rose Test Garden. Discover the art of the city at the Portland Art Museum, spread over six floors. Pittock Mansion is a great place to take a wander around the mansion and gardens, it was the once home of the Portland pioneers.         Portland - Wine Country (50 miles)

        Journey just outside an hour out of Portland and arrive at the Willamette Valley, home to a huge number of wineries and tasting rooms. Here explore this beautiful region by visiting a couple of the wineries and looking out to the beautiful landscapes. Accommodation Options

          Wine Country - Oregon's Coast (70 miles)

          We recommend today travelling onto the Salishan Spa & Golf Resort set in Gleneden Beach. Use this as your base to explore the beach towns of Lincoln City and Newport. The latter has remained a fishing village and has plenty of shops and restaurants. Accommodation Options

            Try to make the time to drive The Pacific Coast Scenic Byway running its way along the Oregon coastline and Highway 101. If you visit between November and June, you might have the opportunity to see the migrating gray whales. Along the way, take the opportunity to get out of the car at the scenic vistas and also see the nine lighthouses along the route. Accommodation Options

              You may wish to explore further south down the coast, situated an hour from the Salishan Resort, the town of Florence. On the drive down, stop at Cape Perpetua, a natural landmark of forests, pools and shells, the Heceta Head Lighthouse and Sea Lion Caves, to see these mammals. Stay in the town of Florence this evening.

                Oregon's Coast - Grants Pass (165 miles)

                    Grants Pass - Crater Lake National Park (83 miles)

                    Wake up early today and journey into beautiful Crater Lake National Park where there are 20 scenic viewpoints (the best time to visit is June to October). Explore Wizard Island and the Phantom Ship, but be sure to book all excursions well in advance as lodging and activities sell-out in this park.                       Crater Lake National Park - Bend (90 miles)

                      Located in Central Oregon, Bend offers further outdoor pursuits; hike in Smith Rock and go white water rafting in The Lower Deschutes. Whilst here, you might wish to drive the 82 mile loop road known as the Mckenzie Pass-Santiam Pass Scenic Byway which offers view of the Cascade Mountains. Accommodation Options
