Old Sacramento Historic District and the Old Sacramento Historic State Park are particularly interesting, taking you back to the Gold Rush Era, where there are wooden sidewalks and you can explore the city on a wagon ride.                 Lake Tahoe to Yosemite National Park (260 miles)

                Allow at least six hours driving time today, departing North Lake Tahoe and heading for Yosemite National Park. You will cross the border from Nevada to California and cross through scenic National Forest before turning south towards your hotel on the edge of Yosemite National Park. One of the most visited parks in the USA, Yosemite National Park offers activities for all or you can just relax and take in the breath-taking scenery, towering granite monoliths and cascading waterfalls.                   Popular sights within the park include Yosemite Falls, Bridalveil Falls, Vernal Falls, El Capitan and Half Dome. Go hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, play golf at the Wawona Golf Course, walk on the many trails, see the giant sequoia trees at the Mariposa Grove and spot black bears! The park can be explored easily by road and all routes are scenic, however one of the best would be the Tioga Road which is normally open between May through to November depending on weather conditions.                     Yosemite National Park is vast so on your third day you can explore the park in even more depth, take a nature walk through Mariposa Grove with its giant sequoia trees, go out in search for blacks bears and other wildlife (although keep your distance) or take a ranger-led tour or activity.
