The Charming Carolinas
The Carolina's are some of the least visited U.S. states from the UK, but that doesn't mean you will struggle to find things to see and do. North and South Carolina together offer a brilliant combination of culture, beaches and of course, golf. Visit the America's largest home, the 8,000 acre Biltmore Estate built by George Vanderbilt in 1889. Hike through towering hardwoods at Pisgah National Forest and cool off under Looking Glass Falls. Stop at Chapel Hill to visit the Ackland Art Museum with its collection of Asian artwork and Hillsborough's historic downtown. Head to the open-sea beaches of the Outer Banks, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Don't miss the city of Charlotte and charming Charleston which are sure to draw you in. Perhaps extend your holiday to the Carolina's with a visit to Savannah and Jekyll Island in neighbouring Georgia. A golf lover's paradise, the two states have many famed courses particularly at Hilton Head and Asheville.
