Experience one of Canada’s most spectacular wildlife challenges – tracking timber wolves in the Chilcotin Mountains. Patience is required but with perseverance and the expert knowledge of your guide, your journey for wolf tracking will be a rewarding one. Your guide will take you out on early morning and evening tracking adventures on foot and by vehicle. Hike to the edge of a frozen lake where timber wolves often pursue their prey, so they can gain the advantage out on the open ice.

Three nights are spent at Chilcotin Ranch where you will enjoy hearty meals, a variety of winter activities and daily wolf tracking experiences.

Itinerary

Day 1 UK to Vancouver

Fly from the UK to Vancouver for the start of your Wolf Tracking Adventure. You will be transferred by private vehicle to your Vancouver hotel and the rest of the day and evening will be at your leisure.

Day 2 Vancouver to Chilcotin Ranch

Depart Vancouver early morning on the Chilcotin Express Shuttle. Travel along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, through Whistler and along the shores of Carpenter Lake into the Chilcotin Mountains. Arrive at the ranch in time for lunch. This afternoon you will be taught how to identify wolves’ distinctive tracks before heading to the tree-lined shore to watch for wolves dashing across the frozen lake. After dinner scout for wolves by truck.

Day 3 Wolf Tracking & Conservation

Wake early to scout for wolves before returning to the ranch for breakfast. You will spend most of the morning enjoying wolf spotting by foot and truck and learning more about wolves’ pack mentality. After lunch continue your wolf viewing adventure into the evening, when packs are most active. Learn the secret of wolf howling and call out to the wolves across the frozen lake.

Day 4 Wolf Tracking and Conservation

A full day of wolf viewing and learning more about these beautiful creatures. Spend the morning and early evening scouting for wolves in the wilderness and from the shores of the frozen lake before your home-style dinner at Chilcotin Ranch.

Day 5 Chilcotin Ranch to Vancouver

A final morning of wolf viewing and learning more about these beautiful creatures. Travel through the wintry wilderness of the Chilcotin Mountains for your last glimpse of wolves before your farewell lunch at the ranch and transfer back to Vancouver.

Day 6 Vancouver

Enjoy a full day at your leisure to explore the beautiful city of Vancouver. The city offers a vast range of attractions to fill your day. Head to the markets on Granville Island or visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge, a breathtaking setting at any time of year, but especially during the winter. Board the Grouse Mountain Skyride that takes you to the top of the mountain for panoramic views of the city and winter activities.

Day 7 Vancouver to UK

Your last day in Vancouver; if time permits we recommend you take to the skies in a float plane on a scenic flight from Vancouver’s waterfront out over the mountains and Gulf Islands for the most unforgettable Vancouver experience. Transfer to the airport in time for your flight to the UK.
